My husband Elie and I made Asheville home almost ten years ago, though my connection to these mountains goes back much further. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, but I fell for the Blue Ridge Mountains as a child, spending summers at Camp Judaea in Hendersonville. After earning a degree in Drama/Dance from Bard College, I left the East Coast for San Francisco, drawn to its rare feeling of a big city tucked inside a small town. I stayed until Asheville called me home, with one meaningful exception: five years in Jerusalem, Israel. My parents had settled there, and I wanted to be close to them for the final chapter of their lives. Jerusalem is also where I became a real estate agent, working with a wonderfully diverse clientele, many of them arriving from overseas in search of a retirement or vacation home.
Making people feel at home is one of the great joys of my life, and it is exactly what I hope to give my clients. For buyers, that means helping you find the home that will become your nest, a place of comfort and belonging. For sellers, it means caring for your home as we prepare it for the market, so you can leave the nest ready for whatever comes next.
I am proud to have served as the Real Estate Consultant on the Steering Team of Housing Options for Aging in Place (HOAP), an Age-friendly Buncombe County initiative. HOAP brings people together from across the community to work toward a place where older adults have both the ability and the choice to age in their own homes. What drives us is a simple belief, that safe, accessible, affordable housing is a genuine part of what keeps older adults healthy, and that the right policies and practices can make those homes possible.
Since arriving, I have found a real sense of belonging in my synagogue community at Congregation Beth Israel, where I attend services regularly, have served on the Ritual Committee, and gladly pitch in for events and ad hoc committees whenever I can. When I am not working, you might find me lingering over dinner at one of Asheville's wonderful restaurants (I happily call myself a foodie) or settled into one of its fine theaters, sometimes even up on stage, and you can almost always count on seeing me cheering at a Tourists game. I love exploring every corner of this area I now call home, and there is nothing I enjoy more than helping someone else fall for it the way I did. I can't wait to help you find your place here.
